Default Unfair to Necromancers around the world


I have three lvl 20 characters and my favorite/first is my necro. I find it odd and uneven that the “Soul Reaping” attribute has zero skill attached. Even the “Energy Storage” for Elementals has a few skills linked.

I guess this is my lame attempt to try to reach anet (Gaile Gray if you see this throw it in the suggestion Box *Wink Wink*)

What do you guys think?

Im sure they will make some soul reaping and fast casting skills at some point. Probably Chapter 2...

there actually is one skill for fast casting, forget what it is though.

The only problem I have with Soul Reaping is that they made Focus Items that give a "20% chance to recharge Soul Reaping skills" and the like. What's the point of collectors giving these out when there are no skills for them?

Frankly I don't care if they make skills for these. The other attributes already have as many skills as all other classes.

Soul Reaping is one of the best energy managers if you have enough in it, anyway

It's called Mantra of Recovery. It's the first mesmer Elite in PvE.
It's a pretty neat skill. Probably the reason why there are so many skills for Strength, Energy Storage, and Divine Favor is becuase these attributes aren't as inherently good as Soul Reaping or Fast Casting.

I imagine if new skills where to be added it would be with chapter 2 rather than in a regular update.

I think every class has the same number of skills so necro's arn't really at a disadvantage(CBA to count them)

Do you have a spare slot on your skill bar constantly? I find there are too many useful skills as it is.

Jeez, you do not need skills for your primary attribute to make use of it.

Especially the necro, instant energy on any death within 1/2 radar range.
Most times you get more energy than you could ever use. Animate bone minions and malign intervention with 13+ soul reaping and you get more energy than the skill cost AND a lot of physical damage for some time.

barely ANY monk uses more than 2 divine favor skills but still 13 divine favor, but thats a different story.

If your a Necro you should always have points in Soul Reaping. I'm just saying that all other classes has skills for there "Exclusive" attributes except for soul reaping. Take a look at Devine... how many skills are there? like 10 with several elites and it helps heal alot (my monk is a healer and I throw everything into healing and divine).

Soul REaping is a Great Att in its own right, adding skills to it would be kinda cool, i couldent think of what they would do,

soul reaping as a primary att rocks

the major problem with soul reaping is it' basicly worthless in pvp

I think the fact that they haven't released the Tormentor's 15k armor is more unfair... :\

Ummm you're just wrong here. Soul reaping is awesome in pvp, with especially with iway where everything is dying. But... I dont think sould reaping needs any skills at the moment it is just good without. If they were to give skills though it would prolly be in chapter 2.

saying soul reaping is useless in PvP is like saying Ron Jeremy made a career out of acting.

You are probably wasting plenty of skill slots on inspiration skills to manage your energy without points in soul reaping. Ohhh that's bad

just throwing it out there and playing of the elemental skill "Aura of Restoration"

Death equals life skill - For X amount of time each time there is a death you are healed for X amount

it's worthless in 4vs4 random area i don't go into the guild battles or anyplace biger

I wouldn't object to them adding Soul Reaping skills to the game.

I like greenlantern's idea, and I wouldn't mind if they had one that for maybe like 4-5 seconds doubled the energy gained from soul reaping. I'm sure they could think up skills for this attribute.

AHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, that was quite an amazing comment. I don't think the fact that Soul Reaping isn't amazing in a random 4v4 makes it a worse primary. Personally, I love the attribute. Like someone else said, their are enough skills I stew over without more in yet another field, and that's only split between blood and curses.

Though I do admit, some other attributes SEEM more advantageous to their class (off the top of my head... Expertise, because I'm really into my ranger at the moment); however, that doesn't take away from Soul Reaping being awesome for a necro, even a blood/curse necro like me

Reapers Might- For 5 seconds no energy is gained through soul reaping next time this skill is used within 20 seconds, all adjacent foes suffer damage 150% the energy that would have been gained.
